Drivers urged to take emergency provisions with them in case they become stranded on the roads. The Met Office has issued ice and snow warnings across most of the country. Simon Partridge, a Met Office forecaster said: “Effectively the whole country is covered by ice warnings and certain areas have snow and ice warnings combined. MetOffice-13Jan15 “Everywhere south of the M4 has combined snow and ice warnings, from Kent all the way to the far west of Cornwall up to Aberystwyth, including London, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. “There are also snow and ice warnings for Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Northern Ireland and Scotland.” Parts of Scotland could see up to 20cm (8 inches) of snow by Wednesday morning. Snowfall is expected to be severe in the central belt of Scotland and southern Grampians where amber weather warnings have been issued. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/weather/11343676/Drivers-warned-amid-severe-weather-conditions.htmlThanks to AJ Virgo for this link
