11/10/12 There was 30cm of fresh snow at Mount Hutt (245cm) on Tuesday 9th October, which is fantastic for the time of year. It wasn't the driest powder ever but it's great for helping to keep the base depth healthy. Conditions are great both on and off the runs, but expect soft spring snow rather than powder Turoa (208cm) and Whakapapa (194cm) are both open on the North Island too. Turoa was closed earlier this week due to high winds but was open again on Thursday 11th October. www.snow-forecast.com/pages/tips_full
